I had the pleasure of shooting Darren and Emmas big day recently at one of my favourite venues locally to me. Holne Park House.
Ive shot a few weddings at this lovely location on the edge of Dartmoor, and its always a pleasure. Laura and her team always present the house beautifully and always with a smile on their faces.
The house is steeped in history, and dates back over 800 years, still retaining a feel for the past it lends itself as a great venue for a wedding, with ample acreage for photos.
I caught up with Emma and her bridal party in the Bridal suite where the wedding prep was accompanied by glasses of fizz and some serious beats from boom box.
Darren and his crew were housed in the west wing so it was great to be able to to and fro between the two groups for pics.
Everybody headed down to the ceremony room for what proved to be an emotional ceremony, to say the least.
After the official business was complete and group photos were taken, we headed to the ballroom for wedding breakfast and speeches. When I say speeches I mean speeches, After the father of the bride was done it was over to the maid of honour for her bit which unbeknown to anyone else included a Disney melody with customised lyrics. I can only say that Ang is one of the bravest people Ive seen at a wedding, she did an incredible job! Darrens two best men had a tough act to follow, but they didn't disappoint and delivered top draw speeches which kept everyone entertained.
However as Darren couldn't decide on a best man and hence had two, the father of the bride thought it would be a great idea to have a dance off later in the day to decide who actually was the best man. Truly good sports they both stepped up to the mark and delivered an interesting variety of moves which kept everyone super entertained.
it was a great day, full of fun, tears and laughter.
Once again than you to Laura for being so helpful and thank you to all the friends and family who made me so welcome.
Just a selection of pics to give a flavour of the day.
