Daniella and Chris. Walton Hall, Warwickshire.

May 06, 2019  •  12 Comments

I recently had the privilege and pleasure to photograph the wedding of Daniella and Chris in the wonderful surroundings of the Mercure, Walton Hall Hotel and Spa.

My first time at this lovely venue, a sixteenth century grade II listed building.

As the guys were getting ready at the venue as well I had a great oppurtunity to catch up with the groom and his crew as well as the bride.

The venue offered some great natural light for me to work with in the huge rooms where everyone was getting prepped.

There is a chapel adjacent to the main house and this is where the ceremony took place, it was a ceremony full of emotion and a few laughs along the way as well. Chris the groom seemed quite overwhelmed to begin with but soon settled once he'd seen his lovely bride for the first time.

After the ceremony it was time to explore the grounds and capture some lovely shots with the happy couple before heading in for wedding breakfast.

The guests were entertained by the wonderfully talented table magician, Max Butler.

Speeches were lively and suitably embarrassing for those who got a mention in stories of old.

After the couple received a sparkler tunnel back into the venue it was time to kick the evening off with cake cutting and first dance before the guests partied the night away with the resident DJ.

I had an absolute blast capturing this wedding and Id like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome.

See you again soon.

Mark and Wendy. Lavender House Hotel. Dartmoor.

September 19, 2018  •  10 Comments

Mark and Wendy got married a few weeks ago in the lovely gardens of the Lavender House Hotel just outside Ashburton close to Dartmoor.

Leading up to the day it was unclear whether the weather would play ball or not as the couple were desperate for an outdoor ceremony.

As it turned out it couldn't have been more perfect, it was a perfect English summers, and the setting felt to me like a cottage garden.

Earlier on I had caught up with Wendy and her bridesmaids for some prep shots which were kind of un planned but Im so glad we did them.

Wendy has 4 beautiful daughters and Mark also has a gorgeous daughter, so the prep shots reflect a true family feel and being in amongst it felt like a bit of a privilege to be honest.

They all looked stunning and I left them at the house to catch up with Mark and his best man at the hotel for a few snaps before the ceremony.

The ceremony was perfect in the late Summer sunshine and the setting couldn't have been more perfect.

After the ceremony we got some nice relaxed group shots and some lovely shots of the bride and groom, making the most of the features in the garden, in particular the rusty bird cage.

I didn't stay for the evening but I had a great time shooting what I did.

Take a look at the pics below which give a lovely flavour of the day.

Thanks for having me shoot your day guys.

Matt and Rachel. Kingskerswell church and Bickleigh Mill Inn.

September 19, 2018  •  10 Comments

So its been a while since I blogged anything so Im thrilled to share this wedding with you from back in July.

Matt and Rachel were a great couple to work with and I had a lovely time shooting their day.

The emphasis was on having fun, and it shows in the photos, everyone smiling and just enjoying the party.

It was great to see the friendship circles that had obviously existed for years, something I love to see at a wedding.

Plenty of banter and plenty of chit chat makes it so easy to pick off the photos.

The bridal prep was at the childhood home of the bride and Rachel looked stunning and was so relaxed before we headed to one of my favourite local churches at Kingskerswell, i love shooting here as the light never seems to be an issue and the church lends itself towards an intimate feel.

The ceremony was traditional and enjoyable and the smile never left Rachels face.

After confetti and some family shots it was down to the Bickliegh Mill inn for the reception. Again another one of my favourite places to shoot.

Theres a real rustic feel to this venue and again I enjoy the intimate nature of it.

Speeches were eventful and funny and then it was time to party.

The band soon got everyone going and the dance floor was another great source of shots for me.

I hope you enjoy the small selection of pics below, once again thanks to all for making me feel so welcome.

Fern and Matt. Dunwell Farm, Devon.

July 15, 2018  •  8 Comments

I recently had the absolute pleasure of shooting Fern and Matts big day at yet another new venue for me, Dunwell Farm in the heart of the Devon countryside. What a beautiful spot, Dunwell is a working farm which has been adapted to host weddings and other functions in its open sided barn, combine this with the marquee in the top field and you have a great venue.

The weather was incredible and for me it was the epitome of a typical English summers day.

After prep at her childhood home nearby the bridal party all headed to the farm where the guys had  already arrived. Everything was presented immaculately and the guests were keen to witness the wedding and then party afterwards.

Fern looked amazing and had the broadest smile as she met Matt for the first time on the day and I don't think the smile left her face all day.

The ceremony was fun and emotional, and soon done and dusted. The top field was the perfect spot to relax and kick back for a couple of hours before heading back to the barn for the wedding breakfast. Speeches were another emotional affair with tears flowing from the grooms father who was the best man on the day.

After the official business it was just left to party the night away.

I had a great day and as usual I was made to feel very welcome by all.

I hope you enjoy the pics below which give a feel of the day.

Darren and Emma. Holne Park House, Devon.

May 01, 2018  •  9 Comments

I had the pleasure of shooting Darren and Emmas big day recently at one of my favourite venues locally to me. Holne Park House.

Ive shot a few weddings at this lovely location on the edge of Dartmoor, and its always a pleasure. Laura and her team always present the house beautifully and always with a smile on their faces.

The house is steeped in history, and dates back over 800 years, still retaining a feel for the past it lends itself as a great venue for a wedding, with ample acreage for photos.

I caught up with Emma and her bridal party in the Bridal suite where the wedding prep was accompanied by glasses of fizz and some serious beats from boom box.

Darren and his crew were housed in the west wing so it was great to be able to to and fro between the two groups for pics.

Everybody headed down to the ceremony room for what proved to be an emotional ceremony, to say the least.

After the official business was complete and group photos were taken, we headed to the ballroom for wedding breakfast and speeches. When I say speeches I mean speeches, After the father of the bride was done it was over to the maid of honour for her bit which unbeknown to anyone else included a Disney melody with customised lyrics. I can only say that Ang is one of the bravest people Ive seen at a wedding, she did an incredible job! Darrens two best men had a tough act to follow, but they didn't disappoint and delivered top draw speeches which kept everyone entertained.

However as Darren couldn't decide on a best man and hence had two, the father of the bride thought it would be a great idea to have a dance off later in the day to decide who actually was the best man. Truly good sports they both stepped up to the mark and delivered an interesting variety of moves which kept everyone super entertained.

it was a great day, full of fun, tears and laughter.

Once again than you to Laura for being so helpful and thank you to all the friends and family who made me so welcome.

Just a selection of pics to give a flavour of the day.
